Ambassador G R Baluch served as diplomat for over 30 years in the Foreign Service of Pakistan and was Pakistan's Ambassador to Vietnam. He was posted to Pakistan's Embassies. in various countries including Syria, Kuwait, Mauritius as well as Pakistan's Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York. He was deputed to the Prime Minister's Secretariat where he worked with Prime Ministers Nawaz Sharif, Sardar Mir Balakh Sher Mazari, Moeenuddin Ahmad Qureshi, and Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto Shaheed. He has been actively involved in community service initiatives including assisting Government of Sindh in formulation of the Sindh Province Education Sector Plan as well as in relief activities for the 2010 and 2012 floods. He worked at the national level for evolving strategies to mitigate climate change effects on the platform of National Humanitarian Network in collaboration with UNDP and National Disaster Management Authority. Ile is a writer and also appears on national media as an analyst. Presently, he teaches at Institute of Business Management University, Karachi and is also associated with the Global and Regional Studies Center at IOBM.
